Osteosil
It is a calcium and silicon supplement, which helps maintain the integrity of bones, hair, nails and skin.
Bone tissue undergoes a continuous remodelling process, with a positive balance, this turnover never completely stops.
After the age of 30, there is a negative balance with a loss of calcium of around 2% per year. This is ideal in situations of calcium deficiency, malabsorption, or in cases of fractures, surgery, tooth replacement (implants), menopause, osteoporosis, etc., cases in which it may be necessary to take dietary supplements to help remodel the bone. The progressive quantitative and qualitative reduction of bone mass, without changes in the ratio between organic and mineral components, is called osteoporosis, and is primarily related to the lengthening of the average life span of the population, but recognises other favourable factors
- the reduction of gonadal function (the menopause)
- diet low in calcium and silicon or excessive sodium intake sedentary lifestyle
- prolonged high alcohol intake
- high and prolonged coffee intake
- cigarette smoking
Osteosil helps activate the physiological processes of bone formation and is recommended in cases of reduced bone mass:
- Osteomalacia
- Osteoporosis
- Arthrotic or post-traumatic bone degeneration
- Bone fracture immobilisation
- orthopaedic surgery
- dental surgery, and guided bone regeneration
The Benefits of Calcium and Silicon
Calcium: is the element most quantitatively represented in the human body. Calcium is involved in the formation of bone tissue in which it is predominantly present; in addition to skeletal structures, calcium is located in the teeth and in body fluids where it performs important actions in blood coagulation, regulation of cardiac rhythm, muscles and nerves and other functions in membrane permeability. Calcium deposition in bone tissue is influenced and regulated by enzymes, the action of Vitamin D, the activity of the thyroid gland and the body's metabolic regulations. The food with the highest calcium content is Parmesan cheese. Other foods that contain it are milk, eggs, beans, turnips, hazelnuts, almonds, etc., while meat, flour, potatoes, bananas and butter are low in calcium.
Silicon: is equally fundamental for our organism because it contributes to the formation of bones and cartilage, aiding the process of bone formation and mineralisation through the absorption of Calcium in a way that is free of Vitamin D. Fundamental during growth, it supports mineralisation and reconstruction of bone tissue even in the event of fracture. It is useful in the presence of osteoporosis and arthritis, but also arthrosis and rheumatic diseases, in old age and during the menopause together with Vitamin B.
Foods rich in silicon are whole grains and green leafy vegetables such as chard and spinach, as well as fresh legumes and soya. A natural source is horsetail, which is rich in silicon and used in phytotherapy.
Osteosil is the natural bone-specific supplement, Calcium and Silicon together help to improve or restore bone health. Bone tissue undergoes a continuous remodelling process, with a positive balance, this turnover never completely stops. After the age of 30, there is a negative balance with a loss of calcium of around 2% per year. Ideal in situations of calcium deficiency, malabsorption or in the event of fractures, surgery, tooth replacement (implants), menopause, osteoporosis, etc., cases in which it may be necessary to take dietary supplements to help remodelling of bone.
